2017 AerWay® AWFT400
The AWFT400 AerWay series has been developed to work with the highest horsepower tractors and give the highest level of productivity in demanding field conditions. The AWFT400 includes a comprehensive array of standard features to accomplish this task. The AWFT400 can be tailored with alternate tines, tine spacing and close coupled tandem (CCT) configurations to suit specific soil and crop demands.
The standard equipment includes the tongue and wheel kit with an over the highway axle and highcapacity flotation tires. SMV sign and transport lights are supplied as standard. A linkage system keeps the main frame in a level pitch attitude as the unit is raised. The wings can be actuated independently and hydraulic down pressure valves maintain uniform soil engagement across the width on the unit. The main members of the frame are 5x5 structural tubing. All the hinge points for the lift frame, tongue, wings, cylinders and level lift system pivot on high capacity hardened steel spherical bushings.
These high performance and heavy duty components give a cultivation width of 40 ft. and will fold to within 20 ft. for field to field transport.
FRAMEMain members 5x5 structural tubing. Assembled by arc welding. Blasted and painted AerWay yellow.
ROLLERS4.00” Diameter rollers, 8 supplied on SLR units.. Standard tine spacing 7.50”. Optional spacing 10.00”. The rollers operate on 50mm trunnion mounted, permanently lubricated bearings. Heavy duty 1.50” thick c-springs cushion the shock loads developed if the unit hits an obstruction.
CULTIVATIONFor more aggressive cultivation the rollers can be adjusted from 0° to 10° in 2.50° increments. When operating in the field, the wings follow the contour of the soil.
BALLASTThe AWFT400 has provision for ballast blocks in the center frame only. 12 blocks with a footprint of 20” x 24” can be used. Blocks, part # AWBLK750 will give 9000 lb. total ballast weight. Wing down pressure valves are used to transfer weight from the center frame to the wings to give uniform engagement of the tines in the soil across the full width of the unit. This down pressure is constant even when the wings are following soil contours.
WHEEL KITThe tongue, lift mechanism and wheels are supplied as standard equipment on the AWFT400. The tractor hitch is a category 4-5 ring. The ring is through hardened austempered ductile iron (ADI). A turnbuckle top link on the tongue can be adjusted to accommodate various tractor drawbar heights. A series of heavy duty links and levers keeps the pitch attitude of the frame level as the tines are lifted out of the soil. The axle is an ‘over the highway’ model with trailer industry seals, hubs and oil bath bearings. 22.5 x 16 steel disc wheels are used on the 10 stud hub piloted system. The tires are high flotation 550/60 x 22.5 12 ply —2 supplied.
Features may include:A rear level-ride hitch is supplied to conveniently pull implements such as harrow carts. All hinge pins for the tongue, wings, lift frame, cylinders and level lift system pivot on hardened steel spherical bushings. Transport lights and slow moving vehicle sign are provided.
